Research Progress on the Relationship between Lysyl Oxidase （LOX） Family Proteins and Gastric Cancer

Abstract

Abstract:

〔Abstract〕 The lysyl oxidase（LOX） family consists of LOX and 4 types of LOX-like proteins（LOXL1-4）， and it mainly acts on the remodeling of the extracellular matrix and cross-linking of collagen and elastin. Gastric cancer is one of the digestive system cancers with high incidence in developing countries， and its mortality rate is the third place among all cancers. More and more studies have shown that the LOX family proteins are closely related to the regulation of gastric cancer cell proliferation， migration， invasion and metastasis. This article reviews the relationship between each member of LOX family and the occurrence and development of gastric cancer， with a view to finding specific inhibitors of LOX family protein members that can be used in the treatment of gastric cancer.
