摘要: 20世纪50、60年代美国青年经历了“沉默一代”和“反叛时代”,他们追求自我、本能体验和社会反叛,疯癫构成三者间的共同特性,但各群落所负载的“疯癫”有不同内涵。本文试图从文化的角度分析神经症人群、垮掉一代和嬉泼斯特等三类青年群体,厘清三者在表征、价值观念和命运之间的联系和衍变,同时挖掘他们疯癫背后的文化内涵及差异,并发现疯癫概念的内在演化过程。

Abstract: The 1950’s and 1960’s in America are known as the Silence Era and the Rebel Era. The youth in those times can be grouped into those with neurosis and in pursuit of selfness,the “beat generation”emphasizing instinctive experiences and hipsters who rebel against the society through their queer behaviors. They share the characteristics of “madness”,while the madness each group bears is different in connotation. From a cultural perspective,this paper makes an analysis of the three groups and studies the connections and evolution of their attributes,values and destinies. Also,the author explores the cultural meaning and difference behind their madness,and the internal evolution of the concept of “madness”.
