Abstract: In the field of community construction，community autonomous governance is a hot topic at present. However，it is necessary to think twice about whether community autonomous governance is feasible is China. To answer this question，we explore the nature of the community as well as China’s specific national conditions，and discuss the defects of community autonomous governance. Based on the discussion，the author tries to introduce the theory of public governance into community construction in order to find a new community governance pattern，which is，multiple parties manage public affairs jointly through consultation and cooperation. While depending on each other，the government，market，civil society carry out their own duties in this process.
