Abstract: Through the comparative study on the development of women’s football in China and Japan，the authors analyze the deficiencies of Chinese women’s football development，and find out the differences between China and Japan in the development of campus football，young player and coach training system，competition system，national team and elementary education etc. Based on the analysis we conclude that China should take strength to cultivate reserve of talents，intensify training of young women’s football coaches，gradually improve the youth women’s football competition system and training system，and establish better athletes’ reemployment security system. Efforts should also make to improve the recognition of women’s football in society，by strengthening the propaganda，and by promoting the commercialization of women’s football. We hope that our research may provide a reference for Chinese women football’s revival.
