Abstract:

Overseas oil and gas assets acquisition is an important measure for Chinese petroleum enterprises to participate in global competition and to ensure national energy security. The new project evaluation results will directly affect the final investment decisionmaking of the enterprise management. Based on the characteristics of new venture evaluation such as short cycle，timeliness，diverse types，and multidisciplinary integration，this paper describes the duties，orientation of project managers and process of management in new project evaluation and management，including determining goals and needs of project evaluation，making evaluation plan，carrying out project organization，direction，coordination and control，and summarizing and reporting project evaluation results. We hope that the research can provide some reference to the technical personnel engaged in new project evaluation of overseas oil and gas assets and to improve their management abilities.
