Abstract: In temporary sociology research, adjustment of land-expropriated farmers attracts great interests.Statistics of a survey of land-expropriated farmers in Chengdu show that the farmers in Chengdu adjust well in general.About one quarter of the land-expropriated farmers are supported by relatively complete social security, and housing is the most important in their resettlement.Resettlement does not remarkably upgrade or degrade their living standard but it brings about obvious changes to their social network. Also the farmers show very strong desire for employment and for caring the old.An analysis of the statistics reveals that the farmers adjust better when they have better social security support, when more of their former social network is kept and when they get better paid after the resettlement, while those of older ages adjust not that well.
