Abstract: Opening and reform have generated pluralism in social values and have raised the question of whether it is necessary to carry out moral education.The authors′ reflection on this question comes to the conclusion that moral education undoubtedly has its value to survive.Ideologically，moral education inspires people to reflect on their values.Second，moral education is in itself able to provide for the educatees better ethical achievements for future development.Third，moral education functions well in smoothing human relation and guiding economic activities in society.And finally，moral education is of practical significance in carrying out Program for Improving Civic Morality.Therefore，moral education deserves to exist and to be reinforced as well.
