Abstract: ChengduChongqing economic zone，a double nucleus ellipse area，has been lagged behind in economy for lack of expedite information exchange and high level of openness.The authors believe that in order to bring this area out of the current situation，effective measures should be taken in the following respects.First，natural resources，human resources，cultural resources and transportation resources in this region should be put to better use.It is also important to take advantage of favorable government policies and to establish a smooth operating mechanism.The above measures are of significance in developing the ChengduChongqing economic zone and further driving West China development，and in promoting coordinative and integrated development of both urban and rural areas in West China.
