Abstract: In 2010,one picture of a young boy,who was dubbed the “fishkillingbrother” and was concentrating on killing fish, became popular in BBS Xicihutong. His skills aroused heated discussion and this incident caused a great deal of public concern. As a school age boy,the “fishkillingbrother” chooses to be a fish killing worker rather than to get compulsory education at school. What hides behind this is a serious education problem,i.e.the children of rural migrant workers are unable to go to school. The question is why this matter happens today when free compulsory education is widely performed? Base on such a background, this paper uses two main research methods, including questionnaire and literature studying, and focusing on the issue that the children of rural migrant workers are deprived of school education, this paper discusses the issue of dropouts and invisible dropouts through factor analysis, and studies the harms of such phenomenon.Based on the above discussion the authors then put forward some feasible solutions to the problem.

Key words: fishkillingbrother, rural migrant workers, compulsory education, voluntary dropout, involuntary dropout, invisible dropout
