An Analysis of Social Security System for
the New Generation of Migrant Workers’ Blending into Urban Life

Abstract:

Migrant workers’ blending into urban society is the key factor in social transformation and demographic transition in China. Unfortunately,the process of urban blending is constrained by both the institutional exclusion and migrant workers’ selfquality. Social security system is the basic component of market system which exerts a great influence in both policy support and personal function of migrant workers. Therefore,it may exert either positive or negative influence on migrant workers’ ability to blend into urban life. This paper tries to establish an analysis mode of the social security system for the new generation of migrant workers’ urban blending,discussing its influence on the urban blending process. And suggestions are made about the promotion of migrant workers’ urban blending and improvement of related social security systems.
