Abstract:

Recently, with the increasing social need of archival information and the deepening and extension of archival work,it is becoming urgent to make the archival knowledge course part of the system of higher education. But the reality is that few universities offer archival courses in their selective course system. This article makes an analysis of the necessity, probability, and feasibility of offering selective course on archives and gives suggestion on the teaching of archival courses. We hold that the opening and teaching of archival courses should accord with the actual situation of each university, the characteristics of archival administration and the characteristics of selective courses. The major tasks of archives courses are to teach the basic knowledge of archival administration,to spread the resources of archival information and to strengthen college students' consciousness of archival administration. We hope to offer with this paper a new angle on the development of selective courses of humanities and social sciences to universities.
