Abstract: The progress of viscoelastic surfactant fracturing liquids study is grouped into four parts, they are the study and acknowledge of gel-forming and gel-breaking mechanism of the viscoelastic surfactant fracturing liquds,R and D and optimization of the surfactant, the property evaluation and research on the liquids and the last, the development of modifying hydrophobic (associated) polymer and the viscoelastic surfactant multiple fracturing liquids. The liquids contain no polymer,in salty agent, they can form gel automaticly and no crosslinker is needed, when oil,gas and water are produced from formations, the gel will be broken automaticly and no gel breaker is needed. There are only several types of additives,is convenient to formulate the liquids and is operable, the height of the fracture can be effectively controlled with low friction in operation in tight reservoir. There is low leak-off quantity and minor formation damage. After fracturing, the recovery is enhanced considerably,is suitable for the fracturing of the reservoirs with the permeability, lower than 5×10-3 靘2.the enhancement of modifying hydrophobic (associated) polymer preperation and application can decrease the cost of viscoelastic surfactant fracturing liquids which is the research direction of the liquids.
Key words: fracturing fluids, viscoelastic surfactant, modifying hydrophobic (associated) polymer, study, progress, application
