Abstract: General Secretary Xi Jinping's important discourse on national energy security is an integral part of Xi Jinping's thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era. The "six adhere" represent the essence and living soul of this thought. The worldview and methodology of Xi Jinping's important discourse on national energy security are vividly reflected in the "six adhere": adhere to the fundamental stance of putting people first to better meet the energy needs of the people, creating an energy security "circle of harmony"; adhere to the spirit of self-confidence and independence, promoting the high-quality development of China's energy sector, and better safeguarding energy security; adhere to the essential trait of upholding both integrity and innovation, advancing the new development of the theoretical system of energy security with Chinese characteristics; adhere to the practical requirement of being problem-oriented to effectively prevent and mitigate risks and potential threats in the field of national energy security; adhere to the basic method of applying a system perspective to foster a dynamic balance between high-quality development and high-level security; and adhere to the global vision that embraces the world, offering China's wisdom to the global energy security efforts. These "six adhere" are interconnected and internally unified, playing a crucial role in further ensuring energy security in the new era.
