Abstract: Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, China has accelerated the internationalization of renminbi, and has a series of new developments and changes with renmnbi’s ability to serve the real economy with cross-border renminbi business continuously improved, its functions in investment and financing strengthened, and renminbi internationalization steadily progressed. However, due to challenges such as the impact and suppression of US dollar hegemony and weak cross-border financial infrastructure service capabilities, the internationalization of renminbi still has a long way to go. Therefore, we need to exert multifaceted efforts. In theory, we should promote the sinicization of Marx's world monetary theory, draw on and absorb Triffin's monetary theory, criticize and transform Keynes' theory of "Chartalism", and ultimately construct a theoretical system of renminbi internationalization with Chinese characteristics. In practice, with the deepening of reform, we must actively participate in the reshaping of the global monetary system reform, deepen the reform of the overseas financial service system and the institutional reform of the financial sector, and accelerate the improvement of the offshore renminbi market mechanism.

Key words: comprehensive deepening of reform, renminbi internationalization, high level opening up to the outside world, financial system reform
