Abstract: The Third Front Construction is a major strategic initiative centered on war preparedness, undertaken by the CPC Central Committee to ensure national security. It exerted a significant and far-reaching influence on China's national economic development and industrial layout. The large-scale implementation of this project was predicated upon the populace's deep-seated emotional endorsement and active support. The Third Front Construction contains a large number of emotional factors, including the vigilance and awe toward the threat of war, respect and veneration for the people, the admiration and devotion to the Party and the nation, gratitude and nostalgia for family and friends, as well as the bitterness and disorientation toward the lived realities of the time. Analyzing the emotional implication of the Third Front Construction from the emotional perspective and attending to the subjective experiences of micro-level individuals within the overarching macrohistorical narrative, the otherwise austere and rational preparedness campaign can be imbued with warmth and human sentiment. Therefore, research on the Third Front Construction from the emotional perspective constitutes an underexplored yet intellectually promising domain, carrying considerable scholarly significance and value.
