Abstract: According to a comparative study between the oversea students and local students of Cambodia, it is found that under the
influence of school regulations, family background and the government's language policy, the target demands of the oversea students
are restricted by school regulations because they lack national policy support and are not of Chinese origins. Influenced by Chinese
origins and the international influence of the Chinese language, the target needs of local students are diversified and discrete. Through
the comparison of the target demands of the two groups of students, the selection of courses and textbook can be more purposeful for
future Chinese teaching.
