Abstract: Actively advancing the integration of the regional economy in western Yunnan province is of great significance for
promoting economic integration in Yunnan, maintaining border stability and achieving anti-poverty strategic goals. Local governments
in western Yunnan should make full use of preferential policies to actively promote the construction of regional economic growth
centers, improve the economic density of the western Yunnan region, and continuously enhance the spatial agglomeration. At the same
time, the improvement of transportation infrastructures should also be regarded as an important task in the initial stage of economic
integration of the western Yunnan areas. We have to constantly expand the opening-up, build a comprehensive three-dimensional
transportation network, enlarge the spatial advantages of the western Yunnan region, continuously enhance the ability of western
Yunnan to attract external investment and participate in international economic cooperation, and also eliminate institutional barriers by
gradually relaxing policies such as settlement conditions in order to realize the free flow of elements, especially labor elements.
