Construction and Practice of General Education Courses in Humanities and Social Sciences in Applied Universities: A Case Study of the "Xiaogang Story" Course at Chuzhou University

摘要:

人文社科通识课程作为应用型高校人才培养体系的重要环节,其教学质量直接关系到学生全面发展水平。在实践中,这类课程面临诸多挑战,例如课程目标的准确定位、课程内容与学生需求之间的匹配、支持学生自主学习和探究学习的有效性以及课程评价对学生成长的反馈机制等。为有效应对这些挑战,滁州学院校本特色人文社科通识课程小岗故事课程团队从四个方面进行了积极的探索和实践:重构课程目标以契合专业人才培养计划;充实课程内容以满足学生多方面的学习需求;创新教学实施方法以鼓励学习的自主性和深度探索;优化改进课程评价体系以更精准地捕捉和刺激学生的学习进步。这些举措旨在提升课程质量和效果,并为其他应用型高校的人文社科通识教育提供借鉴。

Abstract:

The humanities and social sciences general education courses, as an vital part of the talent cultivation system of applied
universities, have a direct impact on the all-round development of students. In practice, these courses face numerous challenges, such as accurately defining course objectives, aligning course content with student needs, supporting effective independent and inquiry-based learning, and establishing feedback mechanisms through course evaluation to track student growth. To effectively address these challenges, the Xiaogang Story Course team, a school-based and distinctive humanities and social sciences general education program at Chuzhou University, has actively explored and implemented initiatives in four key areas: Reconstructing the curricucum objectives to align with the protessional talent cultivation plan; enriching course content to satisfy students' multifaceted learning needs; innovating teaching methods to encourage autonomy and deep exploration; optimizing the evaluation system to more accurately capture and stimulate student progress. These initiatives aim to enhance course quality and effectiveness, offering valuable insights for humanities and social sciences general education in other applied universities.
