Abstract: Architectural softening means the flexible form of space or the flexible integration between space and people. For
contemporary interior space, the emergence of flexible form depends on the rise of modern complex design concept, the evolution of
aesthetic concept of space and the development of new technology. From some softening works of contemporary avant-garde designers,
interior space form is gradually subverting the centrality, symmetry and stability principle of the traditional space, showing the
characteristics of flow, folding and torsion. However, these forms are not meaningless or the results of playing the form, but its inherent
logic and theoretical basis. They respond to the complicated society with a hyper-rational attitude, and also promote the innovation of
the space form design.
