Abstract: The history of Baofeng ancient town is a history of salt. Baofeng was once one of the eight major salt wells in Yunlong during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. With the development of Baofeng salt wells by big Bai families, Baofeng also became center of politics, economy and culture from the 2nd Chongzhen year in the Ming Dynasty to the 18th Republican year, which further facilitated the rapid development of politics, transportation, education, architecture, and religion in the Yunlong County.
