A Review of Studies on Cultural Adaptation of Overseas Chinese Students in#br# the Context of the "Belt and Road" Initiative

Abstract: Since the initiation of "Belt and Road", Chinese scholars have been conducting multi-dimensional researches on crosscultural
adaptation of the international students from different countries and in different regions. The present researches are featured by
applying the western theoretical conceptions and the instruments in their discussion of related problems. This paper comes up with five
perspectives for future research, namely the forming of a general concept framework of Chinese culture, the adaption of the Chinese
regional culture, the construction of the mechanism of cross-cultural adaptation, the function of cultural commonalities in cultural
adaptation, and research on two-way adaptations of cultures.
