Abstract: Before and after the founding of the People's Republic of China, there were great differences in the populations,
development levels and cultures among the ethnic groups in Yunnan. Under the guidance of the CPC's ethnic policy, and based on
local ethnic relationships, cultures, political situations and economic developments, all previous Yunnan provincial party committees
and provincial governments have gained remarkable achievements in the construction of the Community for the Chinese Nation, and
have achieved national unity, religious harmony and social stability. This article reviews the status quo of Yunnan ethnic development
before and after the founding of the People's Republic of China and probes into the main methods and internal logic of Yunnan's
promotion of the construction of the Community for the Chinese Nation, namely, to establish a new relation, a common culture, political
participation and a goal of common prosperity among ethnic groups. Yunnan's experience in constructing a community of shared future,
shared culture, shared economy and shared politics is investigated and discussed.
