Abstract: Located in the border areas populated with ethnic minorities, Yunnan is rich in the cultural resources of ethnic dances.
However, dance creation based on realistic themes of ethnic minorities is comparative less well-developed. This paper takes the
"Spiritual Realm", a realistic-themed ethnic dance, as the subject of case study, analyzes its material selection, image-building,
artistic features and values, and tries to further innovate ideas and techniques in creating realistic dance works.
