Abstract: “Murder mystery games” is a new type of social game with the stimulation of the strict plot of the character’s substitution logic and the main line of reasoning, which is loved by college students. Through the investigation of Yunnan Minzu University, about the current spreading of “murder mystery games” among young college students, five characteristics can be found: socialization of tribal groups, heterogeneity of identity, stimulation of sensory entertainment, commercialization of script themes, and possibility in value guidance. Ideological and political educators in colleges and universities should guide the development of youth culture and implement the concept of “three-wide education” that enhances the effectiveness of ideological and political education in colleges and universities by breaking, melting and building on the basis of the “murder mystery game” communication characteristics.
