Abstract: The red map is a visual representation of the glorious history of the Communist Party of China uniting and leading people of
all ethnic groups in revolution, construction, and reform, which has a significant ideological and political education function. According to the different spatial scope, content themes, and application functions, red maps can be divided into different types. Because of their distinctive themes, vivid forms, diverse types, rich connotations, and wide geographical areas and so on, they can play an important role in the process of ideological and political education. In the specific application process, it is necessary to explore the specific application path of red map from the three aspects of pre-class preparation, classroom integration, after-class expansion and evaluation, and focus on the exploration of map selection, connotation explanation, teaching method collocation, teaching process connection, etc., and explore the effective path of reform of ideological and political teaching methods on the basis of integrity and innovation.
