Abstract: Objective: Weighted TOPSIS method was adopted to conduct a special review on the use of antitumor drugs in a hospital
and to provide reference for their rational application. Methods: A random sampling method was used to randomly select medical
records of discharged patients who used antitumor drugs from the clinical pharmacy management system of a hospital from July to
December 2022 (before intervention) and January to June 2023 (after intervention). 270 medical records were selected for each time
period. The weighted TOPSIS method was used to evaluate the rationality of the use of antitumor drugs, and the rational use of
antitumor drugs before and after pharmaceutical intervention was compared. Results: Compared with that before intervention, the
rational use of antitumor drugs was significantly improved after the intervention (P<0.05). The scores of seven evaluation indicators,
including tumor stage, ECOG or KPS score before chemotherapy, skip-level prescription and solvent, were significantly improved (P<
0.05). Problems such as the use of proton pump inhibitors without indication, inappropriate duration of prophylaxis, and simultaneous
use of two 5-hydroxytryptamine 3 receptor antagonist were significantly reduced (P<0.05). There were no medical records of using
neurokinin-1 (NK-1) receptor antagonist before the intervention, while 23 cases (accounting for 8.52%) used NK-1 receptor
antagonist after the intervention. Conclusion: Pharmaceutical intervention based on weighted TOPSIS method can promote the rational
use of antitumor drugs.
