Abstract:

Cultural confidence is an important manifestation of a country's soft power. It is not only related to individuals' identity
and value orientation, but also serves as an internal driving force for advancing social harmony and progress. In the context of
globalization, cross-cultural communication is becoming increasingly frequent. As the main force in future national development,
college students are expected to possess cross-cultural communication competence, a global vision, and unwavering cultural
confidence. Enhancing students' political awareness and humanistic literacy is a critical task in the current development of curriculum
based ideological and political education within college English courses. Based on the perspective of cultural confidence, this paper
thoroughly analyzes the practical background of implementing curriculum-based ideological and political education in college English
courses, addresses the current dilemmas in its implementation, and proposes specific strategies to advance its practice. It aims to
provide insights and references for the construction of curriculum-based ideological and political education in college English courses,
thereby fostering students' cultural confidence and cross-cultural communication competence.
