The Investigation and Research of the Religious Culture of Baofeng Ancient Village in Yunlong

Abstract:

Baofeng of Yunlong, an ancient Bai village in the mountainous area of western Yunnan, which was the religious, political,economic, and cultural center of Yunlong from the 2nd year of the reign of Chongzhen of the Ming Dynasty to the 18th year of the Republic of China. Baofeng has a long history and abundant cultural heritages. During Ming and Qing Dynasty, Baofeng's religion flourished and Confucianism, Buddhism, Taoism and the Sanchong local god worship merged together. Based on the investigation of Baofeng's indigenous religion, the Sanchong local god worship, this article tries to explore the historical origin of Baofeng religious culture, its characteristics and its research value and meanings.
