摘要: 从2004年开办第一家孔子学院至今,中国在美国已有81所孔子学院,这些学院已经成为中国对外交流合作的一个重要平台。以美国爱荷华大学孔子学院为研究个案,结合笔者的调查访谈,总结其成功的经验、现有的影响力及发展趋势等,并借鉴其他语言作为第二语言的推广经验,对美国孔子学院的可持续发展提出相应建议和思考。

Abstract: China has launched 81 Confucius Institutes in the United States since 2004,which have made important contributions to China’s foreign exchange and cooperation. This paper,taking Confucius Institute at the University of Iowa as an example,summarizes its successful experiences,current influences and developing trends,by means of interviews carried out by the author. The author,drawing upon promoting practices of other languages’ (as the second language),puts forward corresponding suggestions on sustainable development of the Confucius Institutes in the United States.
