CHANGES IN US INTERNATIONAL BROADCASTING AIMING AT THE MIDDLE EAST AFTER 9.11

Abstract: After the 9.11 terrorist attack,US government enhanced its propaganda campaign to Muslim world in the Middle East.As an important part of this campaign,international broadcasting plays a very important role in improving US image in the Muslim world in the Middle East.This paper discusses US efforts to restore its public image in this area through Radio Sawa and Alhurra TV.The discussion reaches the conclusion that international broadcasting alone cannot win US the heart of Muslim if the US does not make changes in its basic orientation in Middle East policies.
