The Effects of Authentic Leadership on Organizational Ethical Climate and Implications for Social Organization Management

Abstract: Authentic leadership and good organizational ethical climate are the foundation for social organizations to survive and play their roles. At present, the researches on authentic leadership and ethical climate of organizations in China has not been related to social organizations that have special needs for authentic leadership. In our study on the relationship between authentic leadership and organizational ethical climate through meta-analysis, 12 empirical studies were included, with a total sample of 3555. The main effect test showed that there is a high degree positive correlation between authentic leadership and organizational ethical climate (r=0.56, P < 0.05). The results of the moderating effect test found that the organizational ethical climate measurement tool has a significant moderating effect on the relationship authentic leadership and organizational ethical climate (Q=10.94, p < 0.05), and the relationship between authentic leadership and organizational ethical climate is not affected by cultural background (Q=0.13, p>0.05). Based on the research findings, this study discusses how to shape, protect and promote authentic leadership, so as to build a good organizational ethical climate and promote the healthy development of social organizations.
