Abstract: In the context of economic transformation and social change, the entrepreneurial persistence of migrant workers returning to their hometowns has profound implications for the sustainable development of regional economies and the stability and harmony of society. Anchored in the tenets of human capital theory, expectancy theory, and social cognitive theory, this research constructs a theoretical framework to dissect the underlying relationships among human capital, entrepreneurial competence, familial support, and entrepreneurial persistence. A statistic analysis was carried out with Spss24.0 and Amos24.0 of the surveyof 310 returned migrant worker entrepreneurs The findings reveal a pronounced positive correlation between human capital and entrepreneurial persistence, with entrepreneurial competence serving as a partial mediator, and family support exerting a significant moderating influence on the nexus between entrepreneurial competence and entrepreneurial persistence. This research enriches the entrepreneurial discourse by offering a novel angle to interpret the conduct of returned migrant worker entrepreneurs when facing challenges. Additionally, it presents policy makers with strategic insights to foster entrepreneurial tenacity and catalyze sustainable socio-economic progress.
