Abstract: Measurement of migrant rural workers'citizenization cost is a key issue in studies on migrant rural workers'citizenization. Based on a comprehensive comparison of the existing domestic research methods, the study constructs a cost calculation model using eleven indicators in the three dimensions of enterprise, society, and personal costs. These indicators were selected for their inclusive, testable, and index independent nature. Using Sichuan as a typical example, the study analyzes the relevant collected cross-sectional data. The measurement results indicate that the present cost of urbanizing a migrant worker is approximately 36,100 yuan,of which the private cost is 11,300 yuan and enterprise cost is 4,900 yuan, while the public cost takes a lion's share, approaching 20,000 yuan. The study demonstrates that the measurement results are comparable to results in similar areas. The measurement results of the total cost of urbanizing migrant workers in Sichuan province conform to its current development situation, making this study a practical reference for future studies.
