EVALUATION OF GAS RESFRVOIR OF UPPER TRIASSIC IN ZITONG REGION OF NORTHWEST SICHUAN

Abstract

Abstract: Based on the evolution of geologic history and the reconstruction of sedimentary process, temperature change, and gas generation, this paper calculates by improved TTI method the volume of gas generated in Upper Triassic in Zitong region of Northwest Sichuan .basin .According to the volume calculated as well as the geologic characteristics of this region, this paper evaluates the gas richness in Upper Triassic.The method of evaluating gas resources of coal measure strata introduced here can be commonly applied in other similar regions.
