Abstract: Water blockage is a ubiquitous problem during the development of lowpermeability gas reservoirs. In orderto improve the gas effec-tive permeability of low-permeability gas reservoirs, alcohol has beenused in controlling water blockage. Based on the indoor experiments, the mechanism of alcohol treatment has been studied and the application effect of several alcohol solutions has been evaluated and compared. Result shows that damage caused by water blockage in low permeability gas reservoirs can be effectively retarded by the alcohol treatment.
