音韵学素有绝学之称。“十三五”期间，在上古音领域，上古汉语声母研究有新的突破，提出复杂辅音声母和复辅音声母等新的观点；上古音研究的材料来源也有新的拓展，其中结合古文字研究上古音是一个热点。中古音研究，在音义专书文献语音研究和韵书语音方面都有一些新成果，南北语音差异也多有探讨。近代音研究，除了韵书、韵图这一传统研究领域的成果之外，宋辽金元语音研究又引起学者关注，对音材料和方言文献材料、域外文献材料的发掘，催生了一些新成果。音韵学数据库建设也提上了议事日程。“十四五”期间，将更加注重区域性通语音、方言音断代研究，民族融合背景下民族语（文献）和汉语（文献）之间深度结合研究将是新的亮点，非韵书韵图类的汉语近代音文献的整理和研究也将成为新的重要领域。

Phonology is usually known as a unique learning. During “the 13th Five Year Plan”, in the area of phonology of Old Chinese, research on the initials of Old Chinese has made a breakthrough: It has been proposed that complex consonant initials, consonant cluster initials and nasal consonant initials form a trisection pattern; the principle of phonetic compounds has been discussed; the source of research materials on Old Chinese phonology has been expanded to some extent; to combine Ancient Chinese characters and study Old Chinese phonology is a research focus. In terms of phonology of Middle Chinese, there are some new achievements in phonetic research of special books on phonology and semantics and rhyme books; the phonetic differences between the Northern dialects and the Southern dialects are also discussed. As for the phonology of Modern Chinese, apart from the achievements in this traditional research area of rhyme books and rhyme tables, the phonetic research on the Song, Liao, Jin and Yuan dynasties also caused the scholarly attention; the excavation of materials on phonetic transcription, dialect literature and extraterritorial literature have spawned some new achievements; database construction of Chinese phonology has been put on the agenda. During “the 13th Five Year Plan”, research on regional general phonetics and periodicization of dialectal sounds is a basic work in the history of Chinese Phonetics. Under the background of national integration, a deep integrative study between the ethnic languages (literature) and Chinese (literature) will be a new highlight. Sorting out and research such relevant literature on Modern Chinese phonology as the non-rhyme books and non-rhymetables will become a new open-up area.
