Abstract:

Objective: To explore the clinical effect of nasopharyngeal fossa distal radial artery perforator ascending retrograde fascial
flap for the treatment of soft-tissue defects of the hand. Methods: 5 cases with soft-tissue defects of the hand were investigated who
received the treatment of the distal radial artery perforator of nasopharyngeal fossa ascending reverse fascial flap from October 2010 to August 2013. Results: Flaps of 4 cases survived completely, partial necrosis of flap margin was found in 1 case but healed after dressing, functional recovery was well achieved, 3 cases felt well, 2 cases felt dysaesthesia, and the circulation, color and texture of flaps were normal and the appearance was good-looking. Conclusion: The distal radial artery perforator of nasopharyngeal fossa ascending retrograde fascial flap for repair of soft-tissue defects of the hand was a treatment with good long-term effect and a lower price（without sacrificing the radial artery）and with no more operation needed.
