Abstract: From 2008 to 2018, cultural studies on Baofeng ancient town were promoted based on a book, a series of studies and a
research institute. Rich research achievements have been achieved, and studies have all made great breakthroughs on salt and local
society, material cultural heritage, education, folk culture, religious culture, language and literature, Dong Ze research, study of the
social transformation. Governments, scholars, and local people jointly participate in the specific practices of local cultural protection
and development, and have transformed "the culture in itself" into "the culture for itself".
