Abstract: By using infrared camera trap method, spline method, interview method, and literature review method, the bird diversity of
Weishan Qinghua Green Peacock Provincial Nature Reserve was sorted and analyzed. A total of 197 species belonging to 121 genera
and 55 families in 17 orders of birds were recorded, including 34 species of birds under national key protection, 5 species listed as
threatened species at the vulnerable level or above in the China Biodiversity Red List, 2 species listed as threatened species at the
vulnerable level or above in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species, 17 species listed in the Appendices of the Convention on
International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora （CITES）, and 161 species of birds listed as "three categories of
protected animals". In terms of residency type, resident birds are the main ones （147 species, accounting for 74.62%）, followed by
summer migratory birds （25 species, accounting for 12.69%）. Among the 172 bird species bred locally, the Oriental species are the
main ones（ 117 species, accounting for 68.02%）, while the others are widely distributed species（ 55 species, accounting for 31.98%）.
In terms of habitat distribution, broad-leaved forests have the highest species richness of birds, followed by coniferous forests, and
stream waters have the lowest. The inter family diversity index （DF）, inter genus diversity index （DG）, and species diversity G-F index
of birds are 27.042 8, 4.633 4, and 0.828 7, respectively. This survey has updated the background of bird resources in the protected
area and proposed corresponding suggestions for the protection and management of bird resources.
