《淮南子》是西汉初期淮南王刘安及其门客集体编撰的一部思想学术著作。该书内容博大精深，其中记载了有关夏代及其以前的宗教信仰的一部分资料。这些珍贵的资料是研究古代宗教思想的重要依据。《淮南子》宗教思想以神仙道家思想为主，兼及其他有神论信仰，包含自然崇拜、祖先崇拜、鬼神崇拜三个方面。
Huainanzi is an ideological academic writing compiled collectively by the Huinan King LIU An and his disciples in the early Western Han Dynasty. The book, which is broad and profound, has recorded the religious beliefs in and before Xia Dynasty. The materials become the important research basis of ancient religious thoughts. The religious thoughts in Huainanzi are mainly the immortal Taoist thoughts, with some other minor concepts of god as nature worship, ancestor worship and spirit worship.
