Nowadays, the industry of hosts is becoming more and more diversified, and the discussion should start from the purely

conscious object of the host, which is both a priori and universal. Observing "host" from the etymological, semantic and pragmatic perspectives, we can reveal that it has the nature of a field-oriented discourse controller in the Chinese context. The premise of “field” can be further clarified as "a group of sources that demand orderly communication". Thus, it can be summarized that host is a social role constructed on the basis of normative group communication needs, mainly controlling and scheduling the information orientation of group communication. It can be predicted that the research direction of the host will gradually return to the richer social life practice.
