The Interpretation of Explicit and Implicit Meanings of the Visual Form of Tai Sui Fu

Abstract:

The Chinese folklores believe that there are sixty Gods living in heaven. They take turns to descend to the earth every year to protect people. The People born in a specific zodiac year may offend one or some of Gods. Tai Sui Fu (Tai Sui Talisman or amulet) is deigned to protect those people who offend Gods unintentionally. From the point of view of visual forms of tai sui fu,the article explores the explicit and implicit meanings. The explicit meaning presents religious beliefs and fate orders; the implicit meaning expresses some social relationships.
