Comparitive Analysis of the Employment Intentions of the Undergraduate Nursing Students
and Middle Vocational School Students

Abstract:

Objective: To understand the employment intentions of the undergraduate nursing students and middle vocational school
students and analyze the main reasons to provide a theoretical basis for career guidance and current uneven distribution of nurses.
Methods: Questionnaire was sent to survey the employment intentions of the graduate nursing students in Dali Health School and Dali
University. The employment intentions and influencing factors were analyzed. Results: Middle vocational nursing students' working
intention as nurse was significantly higher than that of the undergraduate nursing students, however; while undergrauates' intention of
continuing their studies and engaging in teaching is significantly higher than that of the vocational students. The difference was
statistically significant. Conclusion: It is important to strengthen nursing students' professional education, raise the awareness, correct
their career outlook and widen theire employment opportunities so as to encourage them to form a strong employment will and positive
employment motives.
