Abstract:         The Tea-Horse Ancient Road was named for the first time in 1992 and relevant research literature emerged 25 years ago.The research has experienced three stages: the initial stage, developing stage and prosperous stage. Current studies are mainly conducted from the perspectives of tourism, geography, history, science of architecture and engineering, religion, ethnic relations,economics and culture. The research was slow and difficult at the beginning but now is thriving and greatly facilitating practical work.However, it is still in short of an overall and systematic advancement of research theory. That is, it lacks a methodological and   theoretical framework of its own.
