Investigation and Analysis of Boredom Proneness for College Students

Abstract: 1,813 college students from 14 universities were survey by using Boredom Proneness Questionnaire for College Students
(BPQ)revised by Zhang Shize for understanding the current situation of boredom proneness for college students and providing
empirical basis for research. According to the survey, male students got higher scores than female students on boredom proneness;
college students from rural areas had higher scores on boredom proneness than college students from cities; senior student had higher
scores on boredom proneness than other three grade students; the students of higher vocational colleges got higher scores than the
students of key universities on boredom proneness and external stimulus dimension; there are not significant differences between
college students from normal undergraduate university and the students from key universities on the scores of boredom proneness and
two dimensions; only-child students and non-only-child students do not exist significant differences on scores of boredom proneness.
