Abstract:
The old and small villages in Longzhupeng integrate the headman system, religious beliefs, historical memory, ancestral
identity, and ethical norms to create a set of reasons and rituals which embody traditional Lahuxi culture and which interweave with
related rules of faith, festival rituals and symbols. Village temples and household gods have created interactive relationships beyond the
limit of administrative villages, which is considered as the symbol of common historical and cultural memories and ethnic kinship
identity of 10 Lahuxi villages in China and Myanmar.
