A Study on the Subject-Driven Models for the Development of Rural Cultural Industries in Ethnic
Minority Areas: Practical Cases from Three Villages in Dali

Abstract:

The development of rural cultural industries serves as a vital pathway for rural revitalization in ethnic minority areas, and
driving subjects are the key to the development of cultural industries. Based on field investigations in Dali, Yunnan, the subject-driven
models for rural cultural industries in ethnic minority regions can be categorized into three types: "individual-driven" "community
driven" and "government-driven". The study indicates that while all three models can promote the industrialization of rural culture,
they respectively face limitations such as a lack of sustainable momentum mechanisms, low efficiency in resource integration, and weak
market sensitivity and adaptability. Therefore, it is recommended that ethnic minority regions establish a collaborative-driven model
involving multi-subjects for cultural industry development, forming a high-quality development pattern centered on "cultural soul
forging, industrial foundation-laying, and integration-driven empowerment".
