Abstract:

Objective:To research the effect and mechanism of polysaccharide from Folium Artemisiae Argyi Folium on immune
function in mice. Methods: Mice were random divided into low dose, high dose and control group; 2 doses of polysaccharide of Folium
Artemisiae Argyi and control medicine were administered orally to mice for 10 consecutive days. Then, the mice were executed, the
weight of body, spleen and thymus, as well as the spleen and thymus index were measured. The phagocytosis of mice peritoneal
macrophage was tested on Candida albicans. The change of cell- mediate immunity in the mice was determinated by splenic T
lymphocyte proliferation assay. The serum level of immunoglobulin in the mice was detected by ELISA. Results: The polysaccharide
from Folium Artemisiae Argyi increased the weight of immune organs, strengthened the phagocytosis of macrophage, the ability of B
cell to produce antibodies and the proliferative ability of splenic T lymphocytes in mice. Conclusion: The polysaccharide from Folium
Artemisiae Argyi could regulate mice immune function by increasing non-specific immune, cellular immunity and humoral immunity.
