Abstract:

Objective: To investigate the efficiency of DNA quantitative cytology and Thinprep Cytologic Test in screening cervical
carcinoma and analyze the relationship between these two methods. Methods: 989 cases using above two screening cervical carcinoma
techniques from May 2014 to June 2015 were retrospectively analyzed. Results: 40 positive cases(4.0%)and 66 borderline cases
(6.7%)were detected through DNA quantitative cytology ; 10 positive cases(1.0%)and 42 borderline cases(4.2%)were diagnosed
through Thinprep Cytologic Test. There were some overlapping cases between these two methods. Conclusion: The positive rate of
DNA quantitative cytology was higher than that of Thinprep Cytologic Test(P<0.05). The combination of DNA quantitative cytology
and Thinprep Cytologic Test could provide high positive rate.
