Abstract:
This paper analyzes the educational levels, enrollment times, geographical distributions, school types and employment
directions of 330 schools that have applied psychology majors, trying to find out why the employment rates of psychology majors in
some provinces have been given "red-cards". The analysis shows that the major reasons are the opening of a large number of applied
psychology majors in the same period of time, the imbalanced regional distribution, and too many graduate students with low levels of
education. All colleges and universities which run the major should consider the expansion of the employment market as well as the
reduction of student numbers. The redundancy of a single specialty leads to the homogeneity of trained talents and narrows the
employment path for students, resulting in the disqualification of the major in many provinces and affecting the future enrollment and
employment.
